Make sure you have a hub
An Aqara Hub or any Zigbee 3.0 bridge (e.g. Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro). The hub plugs into the wall and connects to your router.

Pair the sensor
In the hub's app (Aqara Home or eWeLink), tap +, choose 'Add Zigbee device'. Press the reset button on the sensor for 5 seconds - it joins.

Stick it where you need it
Peel the adhesive backing. Stick to a drawer, safe, window, or frame. Use double-sided tape for extra hold on smooth surfaces.

Set automations
In the app, create a rule: 'when vibration detected → send push notification + sound hub siren'. You can pick the detection type (tilt vs drop vs vibration).

Do I need a hub? ›
Yes - Aqara sensors speak Zigbee, not Wi-Fi. You need an Aqara Hub (for HomeKit) or any Zigbee 3.0 hub (Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro / Ultra) to receive the signal and forward alerts to your phone.
Will it work with the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge? ›
Yes - Aqara sensors follow standard Zigbee 3.0 and pair with most third-party Zigbee hubs including the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro and Ultra. You'll control it from the eWeLink app instead of Aqara Home in that case.
What does it actually detect? ›
Three things: tilt (e.g. a picture frame being tipped), drop (something knocked off a shelf), and vibration (tapping, knocking, banging). You can pick which of the three triggers an alert in the app.
Use cases people set it up for ›
Inside a desk drawer or safe (alert if opened), on the back of a painting (alert if moved), on a window pane (alert on tapping/breaking), under a mattress for elderly fall detection, or on a washing machine to alert when the cycle ends.
How long does the battery last? ›
About 2 years with moderate use. The app shows the current battery level, and you'll get a low-battery alert when it's time to replace the CR2032.
Will it survive EDL outages? ›
Yes - it's battery-powered, so it keeps working through power cuts. The hub needs to be on for the alert to reach your phone, so put the hub on a small UPS or backup power if 24/7 monitoring matters.
Can I get an audible alarm when it triggers? ›
Yes - set up an automation in Aqara Home (or eWeLink): when vibration is detected → sound the hub's built-in siren + send push notification. The hub itself produces the audible alarm.
