Can I really use it as a repeater?

Yes — every powered Zigbee device that runs on mains (not battery) automatically acts as a network repeater. Install ZBMINIR2s throughout the house and your Zigbee coverage extends with them.

Can I control heaters or high-current devices?

No — the ZBMINIR2 is designed for lighting loads and small appliances. It’s not suitable for water heaters, AC units, or resistive heaters (which draw heavy current). For those, use a Tongou smart breaker instead.

Does it work without internet?

Yes — once paired with a bridge or NSPanel Pro, it runs locally. Automations between Zigbee devices (e.g. “if door sensor opens, turn on ZBMINIR2”) work without internet at all. You just lose remote phone control until internet returns.

Can I install it without a bridge if I have an NSPanel Pro?

Yes — the NSPanel Pro has a Zigbee hub built in, so it replaces the need for a separate Bridge Pro. Pair the ZBMINIR2 directly to the NSPanel Pro.
