Which camera should I choose for inside my home?

For one room, a small indoor camera such as the Sonoff CAM Slim Gen2. To see a whole room from one spot, a pan-and-tilt camera that you turn from your phone, such as the Sonoff CAM Pan-Tilt 2 or the CloudEdge Pan and Tilt Camera 2K.

Which camera can I use outside?

A weatherproof outdoor model, such as the Sonoff CAM Outdoor, the Wyze Cam v3 or the Wyze Cam v4. The Wyze Cam v4 also has a spotlight and a siren. Indoor cameras are not weatherproof.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Live view and motion alerts work without one. Add a microSD card to record and play back video on the camera. Cloud plans are optional.

Do I need an electrician to install a camera?

No. You plug the camera into a socket, fix it to a wall or place it on a shelf, and add it in the app on your phone.

Do the cameras work during power cuts?

The camera needs power, and your router needs power for the internet. Plug both into a small UPS or a power bank to keep them running during short cuts.

Can I watch my cameras when I am away from home?

Yes. Open the camera's app on your phone to see the live view and recordings from anywhere with internet. Wyze cameras can also show the live view on an Echo Show or a Nest Hub.
