How It Works

1
Place in line of sight
Set the RM-MAX in a spot where it can "see" your AC, TV, and other IR devices. Coffee table or TV stand works best.
2
Pair in the BroadLink app
Plug in USB-C power, open BroadLink, follow the on-screen pairing flow. Takes 2-3 minutes over Bluetooth + Wi-Fi.
3
Add your devices
Tap +, pick your device type (AC, TV, fan), find your brand in the pre-loaded list. If not listed, choose "Manual Learning" and press buttons on your original remote.
4
Create scenes + voice
Build scenes like "Movie Night" or "Goodnight". Link Alexa or Google to control everything by voice.

Broadlink RM-MAX – Universal IR + RF Smart Hub

This is the device that makes your AC, TV, fan, audio system, and any 433 MHz RF device controllable from your phone. It learns the IR signals from your existing remotes – point the remote at the RM-MAX, press a button, and the hub now mimics it.

The result: one tiny puck on your TV stand replaces every remote in your house. Schedule them, group them into scenes (“Movie Night” = AC to 22°C, TV on, lights dim), or control by voice through Alexa or Google.

Why people buy it

  • Make your dumb AC smart. 99% of Lebanese ACs are infrared-controlled – the RM-MAX learns your AC’s remote and now you can turn it on from outside the house. Walk into a cool room every evening.
  • Bring old Chinese RF switches into the smart era. If you have those 433 MHz wireless switches around the house, the RM-MAX talks to them too – no need to replace them.
  • Replace 6 remotes with one app. TV, AC, audio receiver, fan, projector, set-top box – all in one place.
  • Works locally even when Wi-Fi is down. Scenes and automations stored on the RM-MAX keep running without internet.

Key Features

  • IR (38 kHz) – learns and mimics any infrared remote: AC, TV, fan, projector, audio, set-top box.
  • RF (433 MHz) – talks to older RF switches, garage door remotes, motorized curtains, alarm systems.
  • BLE quick pairing – first-time setup is faster via Bluetooth.
  • Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) for app control from anywhere.
  • Broadlink app on iOS + Android.
  • Alexa + Google Home voice control.
  • Scenes + routines – “Good Morning” turns on AC + lights + opens curtains in one tap.
  • Local storage – automations run even without internet.

💡 Pro Tip: Place the RM-MAX in line of sight to your AC unit (it sends IR signals like a remote). Then create a scene called “Coming Home” that turns the AC on 15 minutes before you usually arrive. By the time you walk in, the room is already cool. Set it once and forget it – works every weekday at 6 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work with my AC?
If your AC has an infrared remote, yes - virtually every AC in Lebanon uses IR. The BroadLink app has thousands of pre-loaded AC codes (Carrier, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Daikin, Midea) and usually auto-detects yours. If not, you point your AC remote at the RM-MAX and it learns each button.
Does it work with my old 433 MHz RF switches?
If they're 433.92 MHz (most Chinese RF switches are), yes. During setup, hold the switch's transmit button near the RM-MAX and the hub will capture the code.
Does it support Matter?
Yes - the RM-MAX supports Matter, so it can also work with Matter-compatible smart home systems, in addition to the BroadLink app.
Can I connect it to eWeLink?
Yes - there are integration paths to bring BroadLink scenes into eWeLink (typically via Alexa or IFTTT as the bridge). Not as seamless as a native eWeLink device but workable.
My RF devices aren't being detected automatically. What now?
RF auto-discovery is hit-or-miss. Add them manually in the app: "Add Device → RF → Manual Learning", hold the original remote close to the RM-MAX, press the button you want to teach. Repeat for each button.
Will it work with DOOYA curtain motors?
Possibly - DOOYA motors use RF (commonly 433 MHz) but exact frequencies vary by model. If your DOOYA remote is 433 MHz, the RM-MAX should learn it. Worth testing before relying on it.
How close do I need to be when setting up?
For initial pairing, very close - within 30 cm to 1 m. After setup, you only need the original remote nearby when teaching new buttons.
Difference from the BroadLink RM4 Mini?
RM4 Mini is IR only (no RF). Same idea otherwise. Pick the RM-MAX if you also need to control 433 MHz RF devices; RM4 Mini if all your stuff is IR-only.
Will it survive EDL cuts?
Yes - when power returns, the RM-MAX reconnects to Wi-Fi automatically. Plug it into the same socket as your router so they recover together. Locally stored scenes resume on their schedules.
