Find the closest 220V socket
Pick a socket inside, ideally within 5 meters of your front door - entryway, adjacent room, or hallway.

Route the 5m cable to the doorbell
Run the cable along the trim, through a small hole in the wall, or under the door frame. Tape or clip it neatly.

Connect to the doorbell wires
Wire the two ends of the cable to the doorbell's two terminals. AC doesn't have polarity - either lead goes to either terminal.

Plug in + verify
Plug the transformer into the socket. In the doorbell app, check that it reads 'wired power' or 'charging'. Done.

Only if the wall socket has power - i.e. when your generator kicks in. For uninterrupted power, plug it into a small UPS-backed outlet so the doorbell stays online during the gap between EDL and generator.
Will I still need to charge the doorbell battery? ›
