Sonoff Zigbee Human Presence Sensor (SNZB-06P)

Unlike regular motion sensors that only detect movement, this presence sensor can detect someone just sitting still — even if they’re barely moving. It uses 5.8GHz radar technology to sense breathing and tiny body movements, so it knows when someone is in the room even if they’re reading, watching TV, or sleeping.

It also has a built-in light sensor, so it only triggers automations in the dark — saving energy.

What's the difference between this and a regular motion sensor? ›
Regular PIR motion sensors only detect movement — if you sit still, they think the room is empty and shut off the lights. This is a radar presence sensor: it detects you even when you're sitting still. Perfect for bathrooms, offices, or anywhere you want lights to stay on while you're not moving much.
Do I need a hub? ›
Yes — Zigbee device, not Wi-Fi. Needs a Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro, NSPanel Pro, or iHost. The sensor itself reports presence over Zigbee; the Bridge converts it to automations.
Is it compatible with Google Home? ›
Direct Google Home integration for the presence sensor isn't supported, but you can still use it in eWeLink automations to trigger Google-Home-compatible devices indirectly. Alexa exposure also depends on your hub version.
Can I install it myself? ›
Yes — no electrician needed. Plug the USB-C cable into the sensor and any USB power source. Mount the sensor on the ceiling or a high wall with the included bracket.
What's the detection range? ›
Up to 5 meters. Coverage is roughly a 90-180° cone depending on mounting angle. Adjust sensitivity in eWeLink to fine-tune for your room.
Where should I mount it? ›
Ceiling-mount in the center of the room gives the widest coverage. For bathrooms or hallways, wall-mount above the door works well. Avoid pointing it directly at a strong heat source (AC vent, heater) which can cause false triggers.
Why does the light sensor matter? ›
It means automations only fire when the room is already dark. No turning on lights at noon when there's plenty of sunlight — saves electricity and avoids the "why did the light just flicker?" moments.
Does it work during EDL cuts? ›
It needs USB power. If the sensor's adapter loses power, the sensor stops reporting. Plug into a small UPS or a USB power bank to keep it running through outages — and make sure your Zigbee Bridge has power too.
