How It Works

1
Charge the battery first
Plug the USB-C cable into the camera and a 5V adapter for a few hours. You can also let the solar panel do the first charge - leave it in the sun for a day.
2
Pair in the app
Download Smart Life (or CloudEdge), tap +, scan the QR sticker on the camera, follow the Wi-Fi prompt. Use a 2.4 GHz network for first pairing.
3
Mount + aim
Use the included bracket. Mount the camera at gate-level or above the door. Position the solar panel where it gets the most daylight - south-facing in Lebanon is best.
4
Configure motion + alerts
Insert a microSD card. In the app: enable Video Recording, set motion zones (only the area you care about), and set siren-on-motion at night for the deterrent effect.

CloudEdge Solar-Powered Battery Camera

A weatherproof outdoor camera that runs forever on a solar panel and a built-in battery. No power cables, no electrician, no electricity bill. Place it anywhere with daylight access – driveway, gate, balcony, rooftop – and it’ll keep itself charged and recording.

The combination of solar charging + 5200 mAh battery means it survives EDL cuts indefinitely (as long as the sun comes up). Your front gate stays monitored even when your house has no power.

Why people buy it

  • Works through EDL cuts. Battery keeps it running, solar panel keeps the battery charged. No power needed from the house.
  • No wiring, no electrician. Mount the camera, position the solar panel for sun, done.
  • Loud siren + strobe trigger automatically when motion is detected at night – most intruders leave the moment something starts flashing and beeping.
  • Talk through it. Tell the delivery driver to leave the package by the door, or warn off someone hanging around.
  • Long battery life. Up to 3 months on battery alone (with ~10 motion triggers per day) – solar keeps it topped up daily.

Key Features

  • 1080p Full HD recording – clear enough to identify faces and number plates.
  • 5200 mAh battery + 3.5W solar panel with 3 m cable included.
  • IP65 weatherproof – survives rain, dust, and Lebanese summers (-10°C to 60°C operating range).
  • PIR motion sensor – 130° angle, 10 m range. Reduces false alerts from small animals.
  • IR night vision up to 10 m (not color – infrared).
  • Auto siren + strobe when motion is detected (configurable).
  • Two-way audio – mic and speaker for live conversation.
  • microSD up to 128 GB (sold separately) for local recording – no monthly cloud fee required.
  • Multi-camera view – see up to 4 CloudEdge cameras simultaneously in the app.
  • USB-C charging port if you want to top up the battery manually.

💡 Pro Tip: Position the solar panel facing south (in Lebanon) for maximum daily sun. Even if the camera is in shade for security, the solar panel just needs daylight – you can run the 3 m cable up to a sunny spot on the roof while keeping the camera at gate-level.

⭐ Frequently Asked Questions

Does it really keep working during EDL cuts?

Yes – that’s the main selling point. The camera runs on its built-in battery, which the solar panel keeps charged daily. As long as the sun comes up, the camera stays alive. (Note: you still need internet access through a router on a UPS if you want to view the feed during an EDL cut from outside – but the camera itself will keep recording locally to the microSD card.)

How long does the battery last on its own?

Around 3 months with ~10 motion triggers per day. High-traffic areas (busy gate, courtyard) will drain it faster – adjust the motion sensitivity in the app if needed. The solar panel typically keeps it topped up indefinitely.

Does it record continuously?

No – only when motion is detected. This is intentional to save battery and storage. You get a clip every time something moves, not a 24/7 feed.

Indoor or outdoor only?

Both – but it’s designed for outdoor use (IP65 weatherproof). You can use it indoors too if you want.

Is the night vision in color?

No – infrared (black and white) night vision, up to 10 m. Color night vision needs an LED spotlight, which would drain the battery much faster.

How far from the router does it work?

For a stable Wi-Fi connection, keep the camera within 10–15 meters of the router (and ideally with line-of-sight or only one wall between them). For longer ranges, use a Wi-Fi extender or a mesh node closer to the camera.

Can it tell people from animals?

The PIR sensor distinguishes human-sized movement from smaller objects (cats, leaves blowing) – so you get fewer false alarms. It’s not full AI face/animal recognition, but it filters out most of the noise.

Why is my SD card showing no recordings even though I enabled motion detection?

Check the app for updates first. Make sure “Video Recording” is enabled in camera settings (separate from motion detection – motion takes a snapshot, video recording captures a clip). If problems persist, reinstall the CloudEdge app and re-pair the camera.

What if my battery drains very fast?

Normal in high-motion areas. Reduce motion sensitivity in the app, or narrow the motion detection zone to just the area you care about (e.g. only the gate, not the whole street).

📌 Want recordings, not just live view? This camera stores footage on a microSD card (not included). Pair it with the Kingston 128GB microSD card – about 30 days of motion clips, saved on the card, no monthly cloud fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it really keep working during EDL cuts?
Yes - that's the main selling point. The camera runs on its built-in 5200 mAh battery, which the solar panel keeps charged daily. As long as the sun comes up, the camera stays alive. Note: to view the feed remotely during an EDL cut you still need your router on a UPS, but local recording to microSD continues regardless.
How long does the battery last on its own?
About 3 months with ~10 motion triggers per day. Busy areas (gates, courtyards) drain it faster - reduce motion sensitivity in the app if needed. The solar panel typically keeps it topped up indefinitely.
Does it record continuously?
No - only when motion is detected. This is intentional to save battery and storage. You get a clip every time something moves, not a 24/7 feed. If you need 24/7 recording, look at the wired Wyze Cam v4 or a PoE camera.
Indoor or outdoor only?
Both - designed for outdoor use (IP65 weatherproof), works indoors too if you want.
Color night vision?
No - infrared (black + white) night vision, up to 10 m. Color night vision needs an LED spotlight, which would drain the battery much faster. For color outdoor night vision, look at the Reolink Argus 3E.
How far from the router does it work?
For a stable Wi-Fi connection, keep it within 10-15 m of the router (or with line-of-sight through one wall). For longer range, add a Wi-Fi extender or mesh node closer to the camera.
Can it tell people from animals?
The PIR sensor filters out small-animal motion (cats, leaves blowing) from human-sized movement, so you get fewer false alarms. It's not full AI face/animal recognition - for that, look at the Wyze Cam v4 or Reolink models.
Why is my SD card showing no recordings?
Check the app for updates first. Make sure 'Video Recording' is enabled in camera settings (separate from motion detection - motion takes snapshots, video recording captures clips). If issues persist, reinstall the Smart Life / CloudEdge app and re-pair the camera.
