How It Works

1
Cut the breaker
Power off the circuit at the breaker. Open the wall switch you want to replace and disconnect the old one.
2
Wire in the M5
Connect Live, Neutral, and the load wire to the M5's marked terminals. Push it back into the 120-type box and screw the face on.
3
Pair in eWeLink
Power on. Open eWeLink → Add Device → follow the pairing flow. Takes about 2 minutes.
4
Create scenes + share with family
Group it with other switches into scenes ("all off", "goodnight"). Share access with everyone's eWeLink account.

Sonoff SwitchMan M5 — Smart Wall Switch (120 Type, 1 Gang)

A smart wall switch designed for Lebanese rectangular wall boxes (120 Type). It replaces your regular wall switch entirely — and from the outside, looks and feels exactly like a normal switch. Real physical buttons, satisfying click, anyone in the family can use it without learning anything new.

The smart part is hidden: connect it to Wi-Fi, and you can also control your lights from your phone, schedule them, or trigger them by voice. Black color, available in 1-gang (this version), 2-gang, or 3-gang.

Why this over a hidden relay like MINIR4

  • You want a smart switch that looks intentional. The MINIR4 hides behind your existing switch — but your existing switch may be old, mismatched, or ugly. The SwitchMan M5 is a complete replacement with a modern clean look.
  • One physical install, not two. No fiddling with hiding a relay behind an existing wall plate. Pull out the old switch, install this, done.
  • Family-friendly. Real click buttons that work like normal. Older relatives and small kids use it without confusion.
  • Standardized look. Replace all the switches in a room with these and you get a unified, modern aesthetic.

Key Features

  • 120 Type — fits standard Lebanese rectangular wall boxes.
  • 1-gang (this version), or upgrade to 2-gang or 3-gang for more buttons in one switch.
  • Real physical click buttons — familiar, durable.
  • eWeLink-Remote — control locally without internet.
  • Scheduling + timers + scenes via the eWeLink app.
  • Voice controlGoogle Assistant and Alexa.
  • Black color — clean, modern look.
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Neutral wire required.

💡 Pro Tip: The 1-gang version controls one light circuit. If you have a wall switch with 2 or 3 button positions (controlling multiple lights), order the 2-gang or 3-gang version instead — make sure all gangs are configured correctly through the eWeLink app. You can also dial it down: if you bought a 3-gang and only want 1 or 2 active, change the gang count in the app settings without rewiring.

⭐ Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my existing switch frame?

Yes — designed to fit Lebanese rectangular wall boxes (120 Type), which is the standard in most Lebanese homes. Measure your existing switch (most are 120 Type rectangular). If yours is square / 86 Type, you’ll need the 86 Type version instead.

Can I order a 1-gang now and change it later to 2-gang or 3-gang?

No — the physical version (1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang) refers to the number of buttons on the switch face. Those are physically different products. However, you CAN configure a 3-gang in the app to function as 1-gang or 2-gang if you don’t want to use all buttons (the unused ones simply do nothing). Buying 3-gang for flexibility is a safe call.

Does it support 2-way (double direction) wiring?

No — the SwitchMan M5 doesn’t support 2-way wiring (where two switches control the same light, e.g. top + bottom of a staircase). For 2-way installations, you need a different switch type.

Do you repair these switches?

No — we don’t offer repair services on smart switches. If yours fails within the warranty period, we replace it.

What if it stops working after I change my internet password?

Changing your Wi-Fi password doesn’t typically cause the switch to malfunction (the switch reconnects automatically once you update credentials). If something stopped working at the same time, double-check the wiring — the timing might be coincidental.

How do I verify the installation was done correctly?

Power on, check that the buttons control the light, pair it in the eWeLink app, and test from the app. If any of those steps fail, message us with photos of the wiring and we’ll help diagnose.

Does it need a neutral wire?

Yes — like most smart switches, the M5 needs a neutral wire at the wall box. Modern Lebanese installations have one; older houses may not. Check before ordering.

What’s the difference vs the SwitchMan ZBM5 Zigbee version?

Same form factor and feel — the Zigbee version (ZBM5) uses Zigbee instead of Wi-Fi. Pick Wi-Fi (this M5) if you don’t have a hub yet; pick Zigbee if you already have a Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro or NSPanel Pro and prefer offline reliability.

Will it fit my Legrand or other-brand switch frame?

The SwitchMan M5 replaces the entire switch (not just the inserts) — it doesn’t slot into Legrand or other-brand wall plates. It’s a complete one-piece switch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my existing switch frame?
Designed for Lebanese 120-type rectangular wall boxes — the standard in most Lebanese homes. Measure your existing switch: if it's a wide rectangular face, this fits. If it's square (86-type), you'll need the 86-type version instead.
Can I order 1-gang and upgrade to 3-gang later?
The number of gangs is physically different hardware — 1-gang, 2-gang, and 3-gang are separate products. But you CAN buy a 3-gang and configure it in the app to act as 1- or 2-gang (the unused buttons just do nothing), so buying 3-gang is a safe call if you're not sure.
Does it support 2-way wiring (top + bottom of staircase)?
No — M5 doesn't support 2-way wiring. For staircase setups where two switches control the same light, you need a different switch type or a hidden-relay solution.
Does it need a neutral wire?
Yes — like most smart wall switches, M5 requires a neutral at the wall box. Modern Lebanese installations have one; older houses may not. Check before ordering. If your box has no neutral, look at the Sonoff ZBMINIL2 instead.
What's the difference vs MINIR4?
MINIR4 hides behind your existing wall switch — keeps your current plate. M5 is a full switch replacement with a clean modern face. Pick MINIR4 if you love your current switch; pick M5 if you want a coordinated smart-switch look.
What about M5 vs ZBM5 (Zigbee)?
Same form factor. M5 is Wi-Fi — pairs direct to your router. ZBM5 is Zigbee — needs a Sonoff Zigbee hub. Pick Wi-Fi if you don't have a hub; pick Zigbee if you do and prefer the lower power draw.
Do you offer repair?
No — we don't repair smart switches. If yours fails within warranty, we replace it.
It stopped working after I changed my Wi-Fi password. Why?
Changing the Wi-Fi password shouldn't cause a malfunction — the switch reconnects automatically once you update credentials. If something else stopped working at the same time, double-check the wiring; the timing might be coincidental. Send us photos and we'll help.
